Regardless of the circumstances involved in this accident, it's obvious that the 25 mph speed limit on North Massanutten Street should have been extended to the north to I-81.
- past the dangerous intersection at Shopping Center Road (Food Lion)
- past new houses being built by Ryan Homes at Meadowbrook
- past Taco Bell and Advance and O'Reilly auto parts stores
- past Founder's Way
- past Valley Health Primary Care and Arby's
- past the hotels, restaurants, stores and gas stations
- all of the way to I-81.
On the east side of town, the 25 mph speed limit was extended on East King Street to just short of the intersection with Stony Pointe Way.
Why wasn't the 25 mph speed limit on North Massanutten Street extended to I-81?
Like many other things in this town, it doesn't make sense.
