Have you noticed the increase in feral cats around town? They're all over town. The historic district, Stony Pointe, and many other neighborhoods throughout the town.

Feral cats come from irresponsible pet owners who release their pet cats. Not only are feral cats a nuisance, but also they can be dangerous to humans and their pets.

Animal safety is the responsibility of the Shenandoah County Sheriff's Office in Woodstock.

If enough of us petition animal control in Woodstock AND our town council, then maybe the feral cat problem will get the attention that it needs.

We ALL can be voices for responsible pet ownership and for treating the problem in a compassionate way. After all, it's not feral cats that cause the problem. It's irresponsible cat owners.
